Graduate Visa

Each year thousands of students from all over the world come to the United Kingdom to study. Student visas are available to those who wish to study here for at least 15 hours a week. The student may in addition work in paid employment for up to 20 hours per week during term time, and up to 40 hours per week during holidays. From this, the student should be able to meet the cost of the course, maintenance, and accommodation.

Since the summer of 2004 the Graduate Scheme has allowed those who are here on student visas and studying science, mathematics or engineering courses to switch into the scheme without leaving the UK, or upon return to the UK from abroad no later than one year after completion of their course. This is contingent upon their having successfully completed, with a second class honours (2.2) or higher, a recognised science, maths or engineering undergraduate degree, masters degree or Ph.D at a publicly funded or bona fide UK institution of higher or further education, in a subject approved by the Department for Education.

Successful applicants may stay in the UK for 12 months as long as:

  • they intend to work for this period; and
  • they intend to leave at the end of this period unless they remain under the HSMP or work permit schemes); and
  • they are able to maintain and accommodate themselves and any dependents without recourse to public funds.

If you feel you qualify then please click here to register with us. Once the scheme is up and running we will get back to you.
