Can I come to the UK?

Until recently, unless you had a firm offer of employment with a UK based firm it was extremely difficult for professionals, graduates with work experience and skilled migrants to come to the UK on the basis of their talents. However, the UK government recognises that in order for Europe (and herself) to continue to effectively compete with the powerful economic blocs of North America and South East Asia it needs to maintain a highly skilled work force. It has therefore recently introduced new types of immigration visas such as the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme visa and Working Holidaymakers visa that allow skilled migrants to come to the UK to work even if they do not have a firm offer of employment.
